PIE Olympics

Keeping up the tradition to display the same flamboyant spirit, this year also, our sports falconers exhibited their physical prowess and team spirit in ‘PIE Olympics’ held from 11 November -16 November,2019 at SMS Stadium, Jaipur. Exhibiting its exhilarating performance in ‘PIE Olympics’, our Girls Badminton Team became winner and brought glory to the School by grabbing 5 gold medals. The team members were: Miss Kazal Singh, Miss Anshika Gautam, Miss Ritika Kumari, Miss Nikita Kanwar and Miss Riya Jhajharia. While playing ‘Kho-Kho’ and ‘Kabaddi’, our acrobatic players after displaying their agility and adroitness reached the Semi Finals. The supple TT players were also successful in reaching 3rd round. It is truly said, “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will”, and it was the iron will of our athletes, that made them grab 17 Gold, 03 Silver and 03 Bronze Medals in ‘PIE Olmpics’.

The results were as follow: In Boys’ category : our splendid all-round athlete Master Ritik Kumar grabbed 4 gold medals in 200m race, 400m race, 4x100m relay race and 4x400m relay race. Another shining star, Master Sameer Khan won 3 gold medals in long jump, 4x100m relay race and 4x400m relay race along with a silver and a bronze medal in high jump and 100m race respectively. The high spirited Master Sachin won 3 gold medals in 100m race, 4x100m relay race and 4x400m relay race where as the outstanding tough Master Rudra got gold medal in 4×400 m relay race and the husky Master Arvind won gold medal in 4 x100m relay race. While in Girls’ category, the indefatigable Miss Pooja got silver medal in Javelin throw. Miss Ritika Chauhan, the vigorous athlete was awarded with silver and bronze medals in 800m race and long jump respectively. The sturdy Reena also managed to grab bronze medal in high jump.

Sports activities help students to stay healthy and fit contributing to over all wellbeing. Every year, CBSE organises sports events at Zonal and National level in various age groups for boys and girls. This year, two of our students, Miss Nikita Kanwar and Master Priyanshu Vashishtha moved heaven and earth while playing Cluster Zonal by grabbing gold medals in Taekwondo and TT respectively and were selected for Nationals. Kudos! our robust taekwondo player Miss Nikita Kanwar, while playing Nationals, credited the victory account of Army Public school, Jaipur with a bronze medal where as the TT player Master Priyanshu Vashishtha was also successful in reaching the Quarter Finals.
